Responsible, entrepreneurial action in the sense of sustainability has always been a major concern for us. At Paul Green, social commitment is a top priority - because people are always our focus. It is therefore a matter of the heart for us to support the Hippo AI Foundation (a non-profit organization) and their project "Victoria 1.0".
Behind the Hippo AI Foundation and "Viktoria 1.0" are Bart de Witte and Viktoria Prantauer (right in the picture), who launched the project "Viktoria 1.0" together with Bart after her own breast cancer diagnosis. Having been diagnosed with breast cancer herself, Viktoria's mission with the Hippo AI Foundation is to provide equal access to healthcare for all. Since then, she has devoted her life to the development of open, medical artificial intelligence (AI). The goal: to provide the world's largest open database for the fight against breast cancer with "Victoria 1.0"!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
It's quite simple: data sets combined with artificial intelligence can help diagnose diseases correctly and, in the case of breast cancer, enable targeted therapy. The larger and more diverse a data set is, the better and more reliably an algorithm can be trained.
In the case of "Viktoria 1.0," the data sets in question are images of tissue samples. The artificial intelligence recognizes exactly what type of cancer it is. However, there is a long way to go before data can save lives. Collecting and providing high-quality and anonymized image data is a costly process.
That is why the Hippo AI Foundation needs the necessary financial resources and we are grateful to be able to make a contribution here.
